I am incredibly happy with the service Oakland Cabinet Coatings provided. (Painting a cabinet) At first a was a little shocked by the price but you get what you pay for and the quality far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them.

Three years after our original kitchen update with Oakland Cabinet Coatings, we decided to add some embellishments - such as framed out sides for our cabinets. Once again, John provided excellent service in a timely manner. The project turned out just beautiful! John is an excellent craftsman, as well as an excellent businessman, a man of integrity who really knows his stuff. I highly recommend Oakland Cabinet Coatings to anyone who would like a kitchen update at a reasonable price.

June 2019 - Jonny and his crew were GREAT! They did an excellent job and were patient working around our work schedule to get the job done right. We LOVE our new cabinets (both the color and the new slow close hinges).
I would highly recommend this company!
Update July 2021 - it's been 2 years and still happy with the cabinets! Had a couple issues recently with some corners peeling slightly and called to see how much to fix since it had been 2 years. .... the issues fixed quickly with no charge. I would DEFINITELY still recommend this company! Great service and great quality work :)

Jon and his team were great to work with! They painted cabinets and replaced the cabinet and drawer doors, even making the doors a bit larger to cover more of the cabinet frame. It looks beautiful and was so well done that no one has been able to tell that it wasn't a full replacement! The finished product exceeded all our expectations! The job was done quickly and efficiently and there was a high level of responsiveness from everyone we worked with. I am happy to recommend Jon and his team to anyone looking for these services.

We had our dated honey oak cabinets recoated by Oakland Cabinet Coatings in April 2018. We were so pleased with the whole process and how helpful and friendly the owner and his crew are. I am writing this review now, because the cabinets still look like they were just done. The coating has held up beautifully. Thank you for your expertise in giving old cabinets new life.

A perfect job, my wife and I counld not be more satisfied! I was very leery, our cabinets were in such poor condition, they needed so much repair I didn't think this was going to work but my wife talked me into having Oakland cabinet coatings come out and give us an estimate. After Jonny was done explaining how labor intensive the full process was we decided to give them a chance, and I am so glad we did. Our kitchen is almost a double kitchen and every cabinet and drawer look and feel brand new, this literally saved me tens of thousand of dollars, we couldn't be more happy and highly recomend this company from the owner to the crew they were all professionals!

Johnny called me shortly after I contacted his company for an estimate and we scheduled an appointment. While they missed the first appointment, they did come out the very next day. They worked closely and patiently with us to pick out the right color, which we were glad that they did not get pushy about getting the job done and were concerned about getting it right.
Johnny himself came out with one other worker to take down the doors and drawers to coat at their facility. After we'd picked a color we were comfortable with he sent three workers to my home on a Friday to spray the cabinets. Two of them returned on Monday to install the doors. The final results are really quite impressive. The coating itself appears to be a very high quality product that will last a very long time. The glaze coating really made the cabinets look at home on our 1925 house. We thought the price was very reasonable, about a quarter to a third of the cost of replacement. We did find it a bit difficult to match the color because the color fans we got weren't completely accurate, which is typical, and the glaze coating does darken the base a bit. But we are pleased with the final appearance. Your house will smell like a nail salon for about 12 hours after they spray, but that was a minor inconvenience. I'd recommend this very professional company to anyone looking to change the look of their kitchen or cabinets.

If I could give this company 10 stars, I would. The owner Jon was very professional and accommodating from the time of his quote to the final inspection and tweaking of the project. Jon thoroughly explained the process and made excellent recommendations. We had new doors made, and his carpenter is a true craftsman. The team (Matt, Corey and Drew) were very pleasant and skilled in the preparation and spraying of the cupboard framework. They were respectful of our home and worked within our time requirements. I am a bit fussy, and this company aims to please, tending to every detail, going above and beyond. As an example, Jon realigned the shelves in one of the cabinets that now has a china cabinet door. He tended to the alignment as if it were his own kitchen. The end result is a beautiful updated kitchen at a reasonable price. The only regret we have is that we should have done this years earlier!

Excellent workmanship, great professional end product that compares favorably to brand new cabinets, timely service, great crew, no mess, very fair pricing. .
Highly recommend not only Jon's firm, but that those with prospective kitchen cabinet remodeling projects take a hard look at the professional painting option (particularly if your existing cabinets are in decent condition). Not only for the substantial cost savings over other options, but the superior end product versus refacing cabinet frames and sides with vinyls or veneers.
We are delighted with the end product and only wish that we had done this years ago.

We moved into a home that had natural maple cabinets and outdated counters - laminate and grungy tile. I was unconvinced that painting our cabinets was the way to go. My husband convinced me to check into having the cabinets painted. I searched Houzz for potential companies and came across Oakland Cabinet Coatings.
I emailed and Jon Knoppe and he got back with me within 24 hours. We scheduled an appointment for a quote, and I asked that he bring a sample. After 15 minutes, we were convinced that Jon was the right choice.
Jon's professionalism is top notch. His work is outstanding. People who have visited since the cabinets were painted a beautiful white can't believe that the cabinets aren't new. We have recommended Jon to others and are happy to do so!

We hired Oakland Cabinet Coatings to paint the kitchen and half bath cabinets in a house we were purchasing. Jonny was able to meet me at the house just after we closed to take a look at the project and give an estimate. The sample he provided was exactly what I was looking for and he was able to get started the very next business morning! The entire project took about a week with very minimal interruption in our lives. The finished product is amazing, actually better than we anticipated! We had dark wood and the white brightens up the entire space. It looks like a brand new kitchen that would have cost so much more. The guys were thorough, friendly and professional and I would highly recommend them to everyone! My mother in law has told all of the ladies at work about how incredible it looks and has asked for their name to share with them! We actually plan to call them in the near future to do the upstairs bathrooms as well!

We bought a house that was 20 years old knowing that we would have to redo the kitchen. It was so dated!! Our first instinct was just to buy new cabinets. They were worn and just looked tired. We went and priced out some new cabinets and wanted to just run when we found out how much it would cost. I then started thinking about how we could update our cabinets without having to rip them out and get new ones. So I went on to Houzz and searched for professionals that could paint/refinish my cabinets. That is how I came across Oakland Cabinet Coatings. I read the reviews, which are all amazing by the way, and thought that this might be the way to go. I looked at the before and after pictures and decided that we should contact them and get a quote. He came out on a Saturday which was great since my husband and I both work, and was polite and easy to talk with. After reviewing the quote we called him and set up a time for him to start the job. He came out and got the doors and drawer faces. We hadn't yet figured out a color, so he brought over some samples of what we might like. I had told him I liked this color that was on his website and then he dropped by a few days later with a door painted that color. It was exactly what we wanted. It looked just like the new cabinets we had priced out earlier. He arrived to paint the outsides of the cabinets about a week after taking the doors/drawers to paint. It took a day. He came back the next day to attach the door pulls and knobs, which took about a half hour or so. The kitchen looks amazing!!!! I couldn't be happier. It was a fraction of the cost of getting new ones... I didn't even have to remove anything from my cabinets... and Jonny was great to work with. I am so glad that we didn't end up just getting new cabinets. It is like I got new cabinets, but saved $10,000. I highly recommend Oakland Cabinet Coatings.

Jonny did a great job paining our new kitchen cabinets. He painted them white sand with a maple glaze. We were extremely impressed with the results. I had new doors made for my existing kitchen cabinets. The quality of the doors are remarkable. Very sturdy and solid. I chose the panel doors and Johny coated them in White Dove. His painting is satin smooth and flawless.
Johny is a real pleasure to work with and his assistant Matt. The timing of the project was really fast! The workmanship was above and beyond. The quality of the doors and finish is superior.

I recently had my kitchen and master bath cabinets repainted by Oakland Cabinet Coatings and could not have been happier with the results! From the very start of the project, the staff (especially Jonny) was helpful, informative and patient. I was unsure of the color I chose but they were very accommodating with sampling so I was sure I chose right. I also needed new hardware installed and they did a great job with that too. Everything exceeded my expectations and the whole job was on time too which was a very important factor to project. My kitchen looks like new, no one could tell that the cabinets are over 25 years old! I would definitely refer this company to anyone who needs these services!

I hired Oakland Cabinet Coatings to refinish my kitchen cabinets after interviewing three different companies. I had walnut stained Oak cabinets that I wanted painted black. But I wanted the island in a contrasting color. It was no problem. Jonny was punctual as well as professional and as a business person I appreciated that. His previous experience as a painter was helpful as he was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the job. I also hired him to repaint a bannister which was very time consuming and he did a very good job. I have received numerous compliments on my cabinets. I have not yet taken pictures as my floors are not finished, nor are the new appliances installed at this time. Hopefully, the renovation will be completed in a few weeks.

I had my 18 year old maple cabinets painted and clear coated by Oakland Cabinet Coatings and they look amazing! Two of my friends have recently re done their kitchens with new cabinets and mine look identical to theirs for 1/3 the price. Jonny met me at my home and helped me pick the exact shade of white that would look best in my kitchen with my granite. He stayed right on his anticipated schedule so my job was completed in the time frame I expected. I didn't even have to remove my dishes from the cupboards! He was very respectful of my home, my new appliances and wood floor - not a drop of paint out of place! The surfaces are smooth and wipe off easily. This is not a paint brush process! Thanks so much for a job well done!

We had them painted cream with a maple brown glaze, and could not be happier with the results. My cabinets look new again! John and his team fully prepped our 'white-washed-look' cabinets and sprayed on an exceptionally smooth and durable lacquer based paint finish in our choice of a new color. The color choices had no limitations.
From an integrity and professionalism standpoint, John was top-notch! He is a young man with an outstanding quality ethic that is refreshing to see. I would recommend him unconditionally to anyone considering an update to his/her existing kitchen or bath cabinets.
It is a whole new kitchen without the hassle of tearing out the old cabinets, counters and appliances.

We had our kitchen cabinets painted by Jonny and they came out absolutely beautiful! I was very skeptical of painting cabinets and have never liked the look of them, however when Jonny came out to quote us, he brought samples and they looked amazing. Our cabinets look exactly like the samples we picked.
Jonny also came to our rescue when we drilled handle holes in a drawer that werent correct. He took our drawer front and resanded and repainted it with no issue. I recommend Oakland Cabinet Coatings to anyone contemplating a reface or new cabinets. Its a lower cost alternative that is just as beautiful!

I am incredibly happy with the service Oakland Cabinet Coatings provided. (Painting a cabinet) At first a was a little shocked by the price but you get what you pay for and the quality far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them.

Three years after our original kitchen update with Oakland Cabinet Coatings, we decided to add some embellishments - such as framed out sides for our cabinets. Once again, John provided excellent service in a timely manner. The project turned out just beautiful! John is an excellent craftsman, as well as an excellent businessman, a man of integrity who really knows his stuff. I highly recommend Oakland Cabinet Coatings to anyone who would like a kitchen update at a reasonable price.

June 2019 - Jonny and his crew were GREAT! They did an excellent job and were patient working around our work schedule to get the job done right. We LOVE our new cabinets (both the color and the new slow close hinges).
I would highly recommend this company!
Update July 2021 - it's been 2 years and still happy with the cabinets! Had a couple issues recently with some corners peeling slightly and called to see how much to fix since it had been 2 years. .... the issues fixed quickly with no charge. I would DEFINITELY still recommend this company! Great service and great quality work :)

Jon and his team were great to work with! They painted cabinets and replaced the cabinet and drawer doors, even making the doors a bit larger to cover more of the cabinet frame. It looks beautiful and was so well done that no one has been able to tell that it wasn't a full replacement! The finished product exceeded all our expectations! The job was done quickly and efficiently and there was a high level of responsiveness from everyone we worked with. I am happy to recommend Jon and his team to anyone looking for these services.

We had our dated honey oak cabinets recoated by Oakland Cabinet Coatings in April 2018. We were so pleased with the whole process and how helpful and friendly the owner and his crew are. I am writing this review now, because the cabinets still look like they were just done. The coating has held up beautifully. Thank you for your expertise in giving old cabinets new life.

A perfect job, my wife and I counld not be more satisfied! I was very leery, our cabinets were in such poor condition, they needed so much repair I didn't think this was going to work but my wife talked me into having Oakland cabinet coatings come out and give us an estimate. After Jonny was done explaining how labor intensive the full process was we decided to give them a chance, and I am so glad we did. Our kitchen is almost a double kitchen and every cabinet and drawer look and feel brand new, this literally saved me tens of thousand of dollars, we couldn't be more happy and highly recomend this company from the owner to the crew they were all professionals!

Oakland cabinet coatings completely transformed my old outdated cabinets! The results were jaw dropping. For a fraction of the cost of new cabinets, they made them look brand new. Johnny called me shortly after I contacted his company for an estimate and we scheduled an appointment. While they missed the first appointment, they did come out the very next day. They worked closely and patiently with us to pick out the right color, which we were glad that they did not get pushy about getting the job done and were concerned about getting it right.
Johnny himself came out with one other worker to take down the doors and drawers to coat at their facility. After we'd picked a color we were comfortable with he sent three workers to my home on a Friday to spray the cabinets. Two of them returned on Monday to install the doors. The final results are really quite impressive. The coating itself appears to be a very high quality product that will last a very long time. The glaze coating really made the cabinets look at home on our 1925 house. We thought the price was very reasonable, about a quarter to a third of the cost of replacement. We did find it a bit difficult to match the color because the color fans we got weren't completely accurate, which is typical, and the glaze coating does darken the base a bit. But we are pleased with the final appearance. Your house will smell like a nail salon for about 12 hours after they spray, but that was a minor inconvenience. I'd recommend this very professional company to anyone looking to change the look of their kitchen or cabinets.

If I could give this company 10 stars, I would. The owner Jon was very professional and accommodating from the time of his quote to the final inspection and tweaking of the project. Jon thoroughly explained the process and made excellent recommendations. We had new doors made, and his carpenter is a true craftsman. The team (Matt, Corey and Drew) were very pleasant and skilled in the preparation and spraying of the cupboard framework. They were respectful of our home and worked within our time requirements. I am a bit fussy, and this company aims to please, tending to every detail, going above and beyond. As an example, Jon realigned the shelves in one of the cabinets that now has a china cabinet door. He tended to the alignment as if it were his own kitchen. The end result is a beautiful updated kitchen at a reasonable price. The only regret we have is that we should have done this years earlier!

Excellent workmanship, great professional end product that compares favorably to brand new cabinets, timely service, great crew, no mess, very fair pricing. .
Highly recommend not only Jon's firm, but that those with prospective kitchen cabinet remodeling projects take a hard look at the professional painting option (particularly if your existing cabinets are in decent condition). Not only for the substantial cost savings over other options, but the superior end product versus refacing cabinet frames and sides with vinyls or veneers.
We are delighted with the end product and only wish that we had done this years ago.

We moved into a home that had natural maple cabinets and outdated counters - laminate and grungy tile. I was unconvinced that painting our cabinets was the way to go. My husband convinced me to check into having the cabinets painted. I searched Houzz for potential companies and came across Oakland Cabinet Coatings.
I emailed and Jon Knoppe and he got back with me within 24 hours. We scheduled an appointment for a quote, and I asked that he bring a sample. After 15 minutes, we were convinced that Jon was the right choice.
Jon's professionalism is top notch. His work is outstanding. People who have visited since the cabinets were painted a beautiful white can't believe that the cabinets aren't new. We have recommended Jon to others and are happy to do so!

Amazing transformation done by the most caring, conscientious, professional people we have ever had the opportunity to work with! We hired Oakland Cabinet Coatings to paint the kitchen and half bath cabinets in a house we were purchasing. Jonny was able to meet me at the house just after we closed to take a look at the project and give an estimate. The sample he provided was exactly what I was looking for and he was able to get started the very next business morning! The entire project took about a week with very minimal interruption in our lives. The finished product is amazing, actually better than we anticipated! We had dark wood and the white brightens up the entire space. It looks like a brand new kitchen that would have cost so much more. The guys were thorough, friendly and professional and I would highly recommend them to everyone! My mother in law has told all of the ladies at work about how incredible it looks and has asked for their name to share with them! We actually plan to call them in the near future to do the upstairs bathrooms as well!

We bought a house that was 20 years old knowing that we would have to redo the kitchen. It was so dated!! Our first instinct was just to buy new cabinets. They were worn and just looked tired. We went and priced out some new cabinets and wanted to just run when we found out how much it would cost. I then started thinking about how we could update our cabinets without having to rip them out and get new ones. So I went on to Houzz and searched for professionals that could paint/refinish my cabinets. That is how I came across Oakland Cabinet Coatings. I read the reviews, which are all amazing by the way, and thought that this might be the way to go. I looked at the before and after pictures and decided that we should contact them and get a quote. He came out on a Saturday which was great since my husband and I both work, and was polite and easy to talk with. After reviewing the quote we called him and set up a time for him to start the job. He came out and got the doors and drawer faces. We hadn't yet figured out a color, so he brought over some samples of what we might like. I had told him I liked this color that was on his website and then he dropped by a few days later with a door painted that color. It was exactly what we wanted. It looked just like the new cabinets we had priced out earlier. He arrived to paint the outsides of the cabinets about a week after taking the doors/drawers to paint. It took a day. He came back the next day to attach the door pulls and knobs, which took about a half hour or so. The kitchen looks amazing!!!! I couldn't be happier. It was a fraction of the cost of getting new ones... I didn't even have to remove anything from my cabinets... and Jonny was great to work with. I am so glad that we didn't end up just getting new cabinets. It is like I got new cabinets, but saved $10,000. I highly recommend Oakland Cabinet Coatings.

Jonny did a great job paining our new kitchen cabinets. He painted them white sand with a maple glaze. We were extremely impressed with the results. Jonny is very professional and is easy to work with. He is quite knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He goes the extra mile to make sure you are happy. I had new doors made for my existing kitchen cabinets. The quality of the doors are remarkable. Very sturdy and solid. I chose the panel doors and Johny coated them in White Dove. His painting is satin smooth and flawless.
Johny is a real pleasure to work with and his assistant Matt. The timing of the project was really fast! The workmanship was above and beyond. The quality of the doors and finish is superior.

I recently had my kitchen and master bath cabinets repainted by Oakland Cabinet Coatings and could not have been happier with the results! From the very start of the project, the staff (especially Jonny) was helpful, informative and patient. I was unsure of the color I chose but they were very accommodating with sampling so I was sure I chose right. I also needed new hardware installed and they did a great job with that too. Everything exceeded my expectations and the whole job was on time too which was a very important factor to project. My kitchen looks like new, no one could tell that the cabinets are over 25 years old! I would definitely refer this company to anyone who needs these services!

I hired Oakland Cabinet Coatings to refinish my kitchen cabinets after interviewing three different companies. I had walnut stained Oak cabinets that I wanted painted black. But I wanted the island in a contrasting color. It was no problem. Jonny was punctual as well as professional and as a business person I appreciated that. His previous experience as a painter was helpful as he was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the job. I also hired him to repaint a bannister which was very time consuming and he did a very good job. I have received numerous compliments on my cabinets. I have not yet taken pictures as my floors are not finished, nor are the new appliances installed at this time. Hopefully, the renovation will be completed in a few weeks.

I had my 18 year old maple cabinets painted and clear coated by Oakland Cabinet Coatings and they look amazing! Two of my friends have recently re done their kitchens with new cabinets and mine look identical to theirs for 1/3 the price. Jonny met me at my home and helped me pick the exact shade of white that would look best in my kitchen with my granite. He stayed right on his anticipated schedule so my job was completed in the time frame I expected. I didn't even have to remove my dishes from the cupboards! He was very respectful of my home, my new appliances and wood floor - not a drop of paint out of place! The surfaces are smooth and wipe off easily. This is not a paint brush process! Thanks so much for a job well done!

We located Oakland Cabinet Coatings through Houzz, and hired them to paint our outdated honey oak cabinets. We had them painted cream with a maple brown glaze, and could not be happier with the results. My cabinets look new again! John and his team fully prepped our 'white-washed-look' cabinets and sprayed on an exceptionally smooth and durable lacquer based paint finish in our choice of a new color. The color choices had no limitations.
From an integrity and professionalism standpoint, John was top-notch! He is a young man with an outstanding quality ethic that is refreshing to see. I would recommend him unconditionally to anyone considering an update to his/her existing kitchen or bath cabinets.
It is a whole new kitchen without the hassle of tearing out the old cabinets, counters and appliances.

We had our kitchen cabinets painted by Jonny and they came out absolutely beautiful! I was very skeptical of painting cabinets and have never liked the look of them, however when Jonny came out to quote us, he brought samples and they looked amazing. Our cabinets look exactly like the samples we picked.
Jonny also came to our rescue when we drilled handle holes in a drawer that werent correct. He took our drawer front and resanded and repainted it with no issue. I recommend Oakland Cabinet Coatings to anyone contemplating a reface or new cabinets. Its a lower cost alternative that is just as beautiful!
